THE STORY OF ZIVELI
We’re not saying it’s magical, but sometimes, while sipping a Ziveli wine, you can feel the salty wind off the Adriatic Sea.
Ziveli Winery was created by the Nale family. We are proud to bring the spirit of Croatian wine to the San Joaquin Valley. Our roots are in the Dalmatian region, directly across the Adriatic Sea from Italy. We share the same Mediterranean climate and zest for life, so it’s no surprise that we love growing grapes and making incredible wine.
We have grown grapes for decades near Fresno, California. After a trip to the old country and the eye-opening experience of tasting our ancestors’ wines, our son Cole was the first to suggest we take up the family mantle and start crushing grapes ourselves. In that spirit, Ziveli was born.

+John & Rondi Nale, Owners
John Nale has worked his family’s vineyards for decades and always dreamed about making wine. Inspired by a family trip to Croatia, his son Cole approached him and convinced him that now was the time to build a winery. John has a larger-than-life personality who loves sharing the family vision for wine-making. A hands-on owner, he is just as likely to be out in the vineyards with his sleeves rolled up as he is to be in the tasting room.
Rondi Nale is responsible for all the creativity you see around the tasting room. Her hard work and green thumb keep the grounds looking beautiful as well, from the climbing ivy, to the countless rose bushes, to the happy chickens. Rondi also manages Brick L’Oven pizza and handles all the bookkeeping for the winery and farm.
With big hearts for people and hosting, John and Rondi hope you experience love, joy, and quality with every visit to Ziveli!

Jasmine is the manager here at Ziveli, overseeing the office, tasting room, and scheduling of events to ensure everything is running joyfully and efficiently. A food scientist by training, she also creates the juice blend for our seasonal sangrias!

Each member of the Nale family has played an important role in making the winery what is is today. Rondi and John are the founders and owners, their eldest son Caleb and his wife Jasmine were the first wine pourers and started Brick L’Oven pizza, the other two sons Hunter and Cole are wine makers, and Hannah is a wedding coordinator and event stylist. This is definitely a family business, but we wouldn’t want it any other way!
